Research Interests

Dr. Praful Nair’s research focuses on understanding the epigenetic and biophysical mechanisms that drive cancer metastasis. His laboratory integrates bioinformatics with mechanistic cancer cell biology and pre-clinical animal models to identify and validate novel regulators of cancer progression. A major focus of the lab is understanding how epigenetic factors control cancer cell migration and metastatic dissemination, as well as how physical cues from the tumor microenvironment influence epigenetic regulation and cell behavior. By combining computational discovery with experimental validation, his research seeks to uncover new mechanisms of metastatic progression and identify therapeutic strategies to prevent or treat metastatic disease. More information about ongoing research and opportunities to join the lab is available at the Nair Laboratory website (https://nairlabsite.github.io/).
